If you have been watching the San Diego luxury real estate market throughout the past couple months, then there is a good chance you have come across our Rancho Santa Fe Covenant listing at 4540 Los Pinos, priced at $7,999,999. During the design phase of it’s incredible renovation, hundreds of hours were spent doing research in Paris, Florence & Milan – locations that inspired passion, elegance, and the minimalistic feel for the home.
If you’ve had the opportunity to visit the home, or even if you’ve only seen the photos, then you’re probably not surprised to learn that it has been featured in a spread for the August 2015 edition of View magazine, discussed on the San Diego Premier Magazine blog, and posted on Coldwell Banker’s Official California Instagram account (@cbcalifonia) as “Home of the Week”.
Despite all the features that immediately stand out to the naked eye, there are 3 important luxury details that you probably never even noticed:
1.) 250 Year Old Fountain
Reclaimed from a Tuscan Palazzo, it once was the primary water source for a residence. Upon closer look at the basin, you are able to see hand marks (from when people would rest while drinking from it) which have worn the marble smooth over time. The fountain was in constant operation, pulling water from an underground river, delivering a stream into the basin, and what wasn’t used was returned to the Arno River.
2.) Crystals On The Cabinetry
Each knob in the kitchen is encircled with 48 Swarovski crystals.
3.) Historic Chandeliers
40 chandeliers were originally commissioned for a European church using only the highest quality lead crystal, but only 23 of the 40 were delivered. 6 of the remaining chandeliers are now in the home.
